With my thirty plus years in the workforce, across various fields, I have a wealth of real-world experiences that I can tap into to assist my clients in a wide range of topics. I have seen and worked in a diverse range of situations and assisted clients in navigating all sorts of challenges. Having earned a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy degree gives me a sophisticated understanding of relationships and systemic dynamics. I use my education and experience as a specialist looking into your life with a lens not every coach has. Choosing my approach by coaching you allows me to address issues with a deeper awareness of how different parts of your life connect.

While exploring careers in my life, I have developed a versatile skill set. I began my journey as a teacher. During my beginning education, studying human development, I became interested in early childhood while becoming a parent. Working at my children’s school I developed my teachings skills along with the opportunity to teach at all age levels. I spent two years working with four- and five-year-olds with developmental disabilities. While finishing my Bachelor of Science in Psychology I did a practicum working with troubled run-away teenagers.

Moving forward, towards my Master’s in Marriage and Family included 6 months of counselling couples and families in a supervised clinic. After that was completed, it was a requirement for a one-year internship. I became a counselor with a hospital employee assistance program. I meet with hospital employees for individual counseling on various topics. In addition, I facilitated groups on the topic of coping with depression and anxiety. Another group I put together was how to handle anger.

Upon completing my master’s program, I became an adjunct professor with a college, teaching psychology and career development classes. In addition, I was hired to run court-ordered, anger management classes. Several years later, I moved from Florida to my home state of Missouri. There, I worked in the community as a caseworker for low-income individuals with mental illness and substance use.

I have worked in behavioral health for around 25 years, and am proud to say I have been with the same company for the last 13 years. At present, I supervise a team of community-based social workers that assist low income individuals with both mental illness and substance abuse.
